Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

Globe Runners ("we", "us") runs running training camps and travel experiences, together with Sweat Elite. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use thegloberunners.com, register for one of our experiences, or send us your details through one of our adverts. It also explains how we use that information and the choices you have.

Who we are: Globe Runners, run by Matt Fox together with Sweat Elite. Contact: matt@sweatelite.co.

What we collect

  • Details you give us: your name, email address, phone number (if you give one), your sex (so we can arrange shared rooms), your room preference, and anything you tell us about your running, goals, injuries, dietary needs or travel plans (for example flight times).

  • Details from Facebook and Instagram lead forms: if you fill in one of our forms on Facebook or Instagram, Meta passes us the details you entered (usually your name, email and any answers you gave).

  • Payment details: deposits and balances are taken through Wix's checkout and our payment provider, Stripe. We receive confirmation of your payment and the amount. We never see or store your full card number.

  • Website usage: like most websites, ours uses cookies and similar technology. This includes the Meta Pixel, which tells us which pages were visited and whether someone started a booking or paid a deposit. That helps us measure and improve our Facebook and Instagram adverts. Our website platform, Wix, also uses cookies to make the site work and to give us basic visitor statistics.

How we use it

  • To manage your booking: confirming your place, taking payments, arranging rooms, airport transfers and activities, and sending you trip information.

  • To answer your questions and to follow up when you've asked us about an experience.

  • To tailor your coaching, using what you tell us about your training and health. We only use this for your trip.

  • To send you news about future Globe Runners experiences, if you've asked for that or have booked with us before. You can unsubscribe at any time.

  • To measure how well our adverts work, and to show our adverts to people who have visited our site (using the Meta Pixel, if you allow marketing cookies).

Our legal bases (UK/EU GDPR) are: carrying out our contract with you (your booking); your consent (marketing cookies, newsletters, health information you choose to share); and our legitimate interests in running and promoting our business, which we balance against your rights.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information. We only share it where needed:

  • Wix (website, forms, emails and checkout) and Stripe (payments)

  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram), for lead forms and the Meta Pixel

  • Google (email and documents we use to run trips)

  • Hotels, transport and activity providers for your trip, limited to what they need (for example your name for the rooming list, or dietary needs for meals)

  • Our coaching team for your trip

  • Authorities, if the law requires it

Some of these providers are based outside the UK/EU, for example in the United States. They protect your information with recognised safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.

Cookies and your choices

When you first visit, you can accept or refuse non-essential cookies, including the Meta Pixel, through the cookie banner. You can change your mind at any time by clearing cookies in your browser. You can also manage how Meta uses your activity for adverts in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings.

How long we keep it

We keep booking and payment records for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting (normally up to 7 years). Enquiries that don't turn into a booking are kept for up to 2 years, and health or dietary information for up to 12 months after your trip. After that, we delete or anonymise it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to: see the personal information we hold about you; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to how we use it; send it to you or someone else in a portable format; or withdraw your consent at any time. To do any of these, email matt@sweatelite.co and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to your local data protection authority (for example the ICO in the UK, or the CNPD in Portugal).

Children

Our experiences are for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
